Melinda Davenport is an Anchor and Reporter based in Manchester, New Hampshire. She currently works for WMUR News 9 and obtained a Master's degree in Communication from Northeastern University in Boston, and a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston.
Prior to joining WMUR, Melinda worked as a reporter at WCAX, the CBS affiliate in Burlington, Vermont. As a native Texan, She also interned at KTRK ABC 13 as well as KRIV FOX 26 in Houston so that she could experience the inner workings of a newsroom and gain experience as an editor, reporter and photographer.
Her online journalism experience comes from freelancing for the New York Times Company writing articles (specifically for the web) regarding any and every aspect of Houston, from politics to cuisine. Melinda also served as the Spokesperson for the Body Worlds 2 exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science and was featured on Great Day Houston, 740 KTRH, CW 39 (KIAH). Melinda also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont.
Melinda is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
